Lawson's Midnight Snack?

I've heard legends about their onigiri selection after midnight, are the rumors true? Is it truly a haven of delicious, slightly-weird midnight snacks, or is it just a regular Lawson with slightly more tired staff? I'm preparing myself for the ultimate convenience store adventure, fueled by caffeine and a desperate need for something savory and maybe a little weird. I'm hoping to find something truly unforgettable, beyond just the usual suspects. Hoping to not be disappointed!

That Lawson on Okubo-dori is actually one of the better ones in the area, partly because it's near so many late-night businesses. If you're after something savory and a bit weird, skip the onigiri and check their hot case for the fried chicken skin -- it's crispy, salty, and usually still warm at 1am. It's not a life-changing experience but it hits the spot better than most of the pre-wrapped stuff.

honestly the real hidden gem at that lawson is the egg sando, not the onigiri. they keep it in the cold section near the drinks and it's like a perfect fluffy pillow of egg mayo. grab one and a hot coffee and you're set for the night

ngl the real weird shit at that lawson is the shelf with the curry breads near the cigarette counter, they've got a curry donut that's like a croissant dough wrapped around a spicy beef curry and it's been sitting under the heat lamp long enough that the outside gets this perfect crunch. grab two and a bottle of that peach soda they keep in the weird drink fridge by the registers, it's a solid 3am combo

Best aquarium in Tokyo 2026: Ocean Center worth it?

Any recs for a clinic near Shinagawa that takes national health insurance, and what a walk-in visit usually runs? Also, is the aquarium actually worth the ticket price in 2026 or should we just do Sunshine Aquarium instead?

Sunshine Aquarium is the better rainy-day pick with kids, and Maxell Aqua Park handles strollers easier than Ocean Center's ramps.

yeah the ramps there are rough with a stroller

For the back, try a seikotsuin instead of a clinic, they take insurance and walk-ins run about 1,500 yen.

Ocean Center's penguin and jellyfish halls justify the price, but weekend seikotsuin slots fill fast so call ahead.
