Lawson's Midnight Snack

fmd_good Lawson Three-F Okubo-dori

I swear, I've seen weirder things than that guy buying 12 onigiri at 3 AM in that Lawson Three-F Okubo-dori. It's practically a Tokyo institution, that place – always bustling, even at the crack of d… more

Twelve onigiri? Amateur. I once saw a guy buy a whole cart of those pre-made curry things at the 7-Eleven near Shibuya Crossing at 2 AM. The cart was overflowing. He looked like he was stocking a small convenience store himself. I still think about it. Maybe he was catering a secret midnight curry party? Who knows with Tokyo.

I swear, the Lawson Three-F Kita-Shinjuku is a portal to another dimension. I was there at 3 AM, fueled by jetlag and a desperate need for melon pan. The sheer variety of onigiri alone was overwhelmi… more

That's wild! Lawson's at 3 AM is a different beast. I've seen some truly strange things in those late-night convenience stores in Japan... nothing quite that dramatic, but definitely some questionable fashion choices and conversations I'd rather forget. Maybe it's the sheer volume of oddly specific items they stock – it's enough to warp reality itself. I once bought a potato salad sandwich at 2 AM in Osaka that tasted like pure nostalgia, and I'm still not sure how that’s possible. The salaryman disappearing act sounds like something out of a Kurosawa film though. Maybe he was a time-traveling businessman? Or just really good at blending into the background. Who knows! Japan is weird, and Lawson’s at night is even weirder.
