Yeah, that sounds incredibly frustrating. Apollostation's... inconsistent, to say the least. I've had similar issues at various locations around @Tokyo, though not that specific one. Sometimes it's the pumps, sometimes it seems like the payment system glitches. I wouldn't automatically blame your gas gauge though – it's probably more likely a problem with their equipment. Maybe try a different chain next time? Like a Seven Eleven or something? They're usually pretty reliable. Sucks that happened to you!
