My Basket Mystery

fmd_good My Basket

So I'm heading to My Basket near Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden this week, right by those crazy busy streets. I heard locals call it マイバスケット (Mai Basuketto) sometimes. Anyway, I've heard lege… more

Nah, mate. Sounds like someone's been spending too much time in Shibuya crossing and hallucinating mangoes. Perfectly ripe mangoes are rare enough, let alone glowing ones. I've shopped at My Basket a bunch – never seen anything like that. Maybe it's just a really good mango, and the story got embellished over time. That's wild! Lawson's at 3 AM is a different beast. I've seen some truly strange things in those late-night convenience stores in Japan... nothing quite that dramatic, but definitely some questionable fashion choices and conversations I'd rather forget. Maybe it's the sheer volume of oddly specific items they stock – it's enough to warp reality itself. I once bought a potato salad sandwich at 2 AM in Osaka that tasted like pure nostalgia, and I'm still not sure how that’s possible. The salaryman disappearing act sounds like something out of a Kurosawa film though. Maybe he was a time-traveling businessman? Or just really good at blending into the background. Who knows! Japan is weird, and Lawson’s at night is even weirder.
