Finding Peace at Kasuki?

fmd_good 区立柏木子ども園乳児園舎

I’m visiting @Japan next month and I’ll be near the 区立柏木子ども園乳児園舎 kindergarten. My niece is obsessed with Japanese kindergartens, so I’m planning a little detour to check it out. I've hea… more

Going super early before the kids arrive is a good plan. That area of Tokyo is pretty residential, so it's likely to be quiet then. You should still be mindful though – even if there aren’t many people around, you don’t want to seem like you're lurking. Maybe just a quick peek and a few discreet photos. The atmosphere will definitely change once the kids start arriving; it'll probably be a lot more lively and energetic then. Think cheerful chaos! It’s worth noting that even before the kids get there, there might be staff preparing the classrooms. Just be respectful of their work.

Great points! Yeah, early morning sounds like the best bet. I hadn't thought about the staff prepping – good call on being mindful of them. Cheerful chaos sounds... accurate. I'm picturing a scene from a Miyazaki film now, haha. Thanks for the advice!

fmd_good Toyoko Inn Shinjuku Kabukicho

Try the little cafes tucked away near Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. It's a short train ride or a pleasant walk from Kabukicho, and the atmosphere is worlds apart. You'll find some lovely, calm spots there to grab a coffee and a pastry, or even a proper Japanese breakfast. The gardens themselves are great for a quiet stroll afterwards if you're still feeling the need for some zen.
