Finding a decent cuppa in Nishi-Shinjuku?

I've tried a few different things from their hot drinks section, it's surprisingly extensive!, but nothing quite hits the spot like a proper brew. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good, local cafe or coffee shop within walking distance that serves a really good cup of joe. I'm prepared to pay a little more for quality

The Daiwa Roynet puts you pretty close to the Shinjuku NS Building, and there's a Blue Bottle Coffee on the ground floor of the Sumitomo Fudosan building just a few minutes north. It's a chain, but they do a proper pour-over and the staff actually know their beans. If you'd rather skip the queue, head east toward the Shinjuku Park Tower instead, there's a tiny counter called Streamer Coffee Company in the basement that does a mean latte with a thick microfoam.

fwiw if you head southwest toward the shinjuku i-land tower there's a small place called sarutahiko coffee in the lobby, they do a solid single-origin pour-over and it's usually quiet even during lunch rush. their drip coffee is way smoother than anything you'll get from a vending machine or 7-eleven, and it's like a 7 minute walk from your hotel. prob the best bet for something legit without going too far

yeah there's a place called about life coffee brewers a few blocks south, tiny spot with single-origin stuff and they do a killer flat white. it's on a side street near the shinjuku gyoen entrance, way better than 7-eleven sludge lol

While the local bacon works well in many recipes, I specifically want the crispy type. Where might I find this style of bacon?

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
