I've heard horror stories about navigating Japanese banking systems, even something as simple as withdrawing a large sum can take forever. My Japanese is, uh, improving. Anyone have tips for speeding up the process, or any insider info on what to expect at that specific branch? I'd really appreciate any advice to avoid a full-blown meltdown.

honestly the biggest thing is bringing your own pen, those tiny counter ones are a pain and you'll save a few minutes fumbling through forms. also if you need a hanko stamp for anything, make sure it matches your registered one exactly or they'll make you start over

Also, is the aquarium actually worth the ticket price in 2026 or should we just do Sunshine Aquarium instead?

Sunshine Aquarium is the better rainy-day pick with kids, and Maxell Aqua Park handles strollers easier than Ocean Center's ramps.

For the back, try a seikotsuin instead of a clinic, they take insurance and walk-ins run about 1,500 yen.
