Heard whispers about a hidden basketball court somewhere on campus, supposedly haunted by the ghost of a legendary player from the 70s...anyone know anything about this? My friend's sworn to secrecy, but I'm dying to find it. They say if you manage to sink a shot at midnight, you'll get your wish granted. Sounds a bit cheesy, but I'm hoping for an extra slice of cake at the graduation party. It's kinda spooky how tight-lipped everyone is about it though...almost like there's something else going on. I'll let you know what I find!

oh the concrete slab thing is real, i lived in the apartments across from the school for a year and you can see it from the 4th floor if you look between the buildings. never heard about a ghost but there was definitely a court there before the fire, my landlord said they just paved over it instead of fixing it up. the midnight wish thing is probably just some inside joke that got out of hand but honestly sneaking onto school property at night in tokyo is risky, those security guys don't mess around

honestly the old gym fire story is more interesting than the ghost court thing. i knew a guy who went there like 5 years ago and he said theres a storage room under the new gym that still has old basketball trophies from the 70s. no idea about any court though. the campus is pretty compact near jingumae station so itd be hard to hide anything that big. maybe check around the back of the baseball field theres this weird concrete slab that doesnt match anything else on campus.

yeah the concrete slab thing tracks, my cousin went to kanto and said they used to skateboard on it after school before security got strict. no idea about any ghost though, seems like one of those stories that pops up whenever a school has a weird empty space. if you're set on checking it out just be quiet about it, the guard does his rounds pretty consistently around midnight from what i heard

Whitebox in Tokyo 2026: Is It Still Worth It?

I used to go there for exhibitions all the time but I heard it's changed, and I'm wondering if the neighborhood is still worth living in or if it's all just turned into offices now.

yeah the old Whitebox spot got gutted around then, last I walked past it was a startup office on the upper floors. kuramae's decent but honestly Kiyosumi-Shirakawa side is quieter and the rents are still half of Shibuya. miyamasuzaka is basically all towers now.

kuramae's rents crept up too since the tawaman went in, kiyosumi side is still the better bet

whitebox actually closed back in 2018, the space is a gallery-slash-coworking thing now. shibuya's still fine to live in but the rents near miyamasuzaka have jumped hard, more office towers than studios these days. if you want that old creative vibe try kuramae or kiyosumi instead
