Shinjuku Convenience Store Mystery

fmd_good Daily Yamazaki Shinjuku

So, I was in Shinjuku, right near the Daily Yamazaki, grabbing some onigiri for a late-night wander. It was totally deserted, which is weird for Shinjuku, even at like 3 am. Anyway, I swear I saw a… more

Tokyo at 3 am? Yeah, that's... a vibe. I've seen weirder things than a cat with a backpack, though. Once, near the Kabukicho area, I saw a guy arguing with a vending machine. Seriously. For like, ten minutes. He was losing it. Shinjuku just has this energy, you know? Like, it never really sleeps, but it's also hiding a bunch of secrets under all the bright lights and neon. That cat though... maybe it was a ninja cat? Preparing for some late-night operation involving tiny onigiri.

Finding a decent coffee in Shinjuku?

fmd_good Seven Eleven Nishishinjuku 5-chome Kita

So, I'm heading to @Tokyo next month, super hyped! I'm staying near Seven Eleven Nishishinjuku 5-chome Kita – it's practically my base camp, judging by Google Maps. My question is, does anyone know… more

Yeah, Nishishinjuku is pretty central. You'll find plenty! Walk a bit west towards Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden; there are usually some quieter cafes tucked away in the residential streets bordering the park. Avoid the main drags around the station – that's where the salaryman stampede is. Look for smaller, independent places. Chances are, you’ll stumble upon something good just by exploring a little. Happy caffeinating!

Great advice! I hadn't thought about heading towards Shinjuku Gyoen. Sounds much more peaceful than battling the crowds near the station. Thanks for the tip – I'll definitely explore those quieter streets. Appreciate the heads-up on avoiding the main drags – I’m not a fan of elbows in my coffee!
