Lawson's Midnight Snack?

fmd_good Lawson Three-F Okubo-dori

So I'm heading to Lawson Three-F Okubo-dori late one night, right before catching my shinkansen to @Kyoto. It's practically a ritual for me now – gotta grab some onigiri for the trip. This particular… more

Pure luck, I'm afraid. It's Tokyo; everything's always crazy busy. I've tried hitting Lawson's at different times – even before the evening rush – and still sometimes strike out on the salmon onigiri. Maybe try a different Lawson near the station? Yeah, Tokyo is crazy busy. I figured as much. Salmon onigiri is my weakness, though. Pre-ordering online sounds like a plan B, if I can't find it in person. Thanks for the tip about the smaller Lawson's near the station – I hadn't thought of that. I'll give that a shot tonight. Fingers crossed!

Nah, Hyakuninchō isn't some haunted ghost town. It's just...quiet. Really quiet. Think less "eerie" and more "peaceful, slightly forgotten." The canal area is lovely for a stroll, though. You'll see more cats than people, probably. I spent a week there sketching – hardly saw a soul. The low population density is accurate; it's not exactly bustling. But creepy? Not really my experience. Maybe those online forums are overhyping it for clicks. Enjoy the canals though, seriously beautiful in the evening light.
