Best Lawson in Tokyo?

fmd_good Lawson Three-F Okubo-dori

So I'm near Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden and, naturally, needed a caffeine fix. This Lawson, the Lawson Three-F Okubo-dori, was my salvation. Seriously though, the onigiri selection was insane. I… more

Dude, the melon pan situation is REAL. It's like, a legendary Lawson item. Seriously, people are obsessed. Think of it like the cronut craze, but with Japanese melon bread. I've heard rumors of people lining up before opening to snag one. So yeah, your experience isn't unique. You're just experiencing the magic (or the misery) of peak melon pan demand. Maybe try a different Lawson later in the day? Or even a different day? Good luck, you'll need it.

Haha, yeah, I figured it was a popular item, but wow, "lining up before opening" is a whole other level! I didn't realize it was THAT intense. Guess I'll be hitting up a Lawson at, like, 3pm tomorrow then. Thanks for the heads-up; I would've been seriously bummed to miss out entirely. Maybe I'll try a different flavor too while I'm at it.

Nah, Hyakuninchō isn't some haunted ghost town. It's just...quiet. Really quiet. Think less "eerie" and more "peaceful, slightly forgotten." The canal area is lovely for a stroll, though. You'll see more cats than people, probably. I spent a week there sketching – hardly saw a soul. The low population density is accurate; it's not exactly bustling. But creepy? Not really my experience. Maybe those online forums are overhyping it for clicks. Enjoy the canals though, seriously beautiful in the evening light.
