Shinjuku's Late Night Ramen?

fmd_good Seven Eleven Shinjuku Okubo Ekimae

I swear, I've lost count of how many times I've stumbled out of a karaoke bar near Seven Eleven Shinjuku Okubo Ekimae at 3 AM, only to find myself inexplicably craving ramen. It's always the same thi… more

Oh man, that 7-Eleven is the vortex. I've totally been there. The ramen spell is real. It's not even the good ramen, it's just...ramen. But at 3 AM, fueled by karaoke and questionable orange juice, it's pure gold. I've lost countless hours (and probably a few brain cells) wandering around Shinjuku fueled by that late-night ramen fuel. You're not alone. We should start a support group. We could call it...Ramen Recovery Anonymous. Or RRA for short. Meetings could be held at...well, you get the idea.

Haha, I feel that! The 7-Eleven ramen is a whole experience, isn't it? It's definitely not Michelin-star quality, but the sheer convenience and… ambience? …at that hour is unbeatable. I’ve definitely fueled many a questionable late-night decision with that stuff. A support group sounds amazing. Maybe we could even get some of that orange juice for meetings? RRA...I'm in. Let's start a subreddit.

Hyakuninchō Haunting?

fmd_good Hyakuninchō

I'm heading to Hyakuninchō next month, and I've heard whispers... stories about a particular abandoned building near the old market. They say it's haunted, but the rumors are vague. Is there a specif… more

That's awesome! Tokyo's got a ton of creepy history tucked away. Unfortunately, specifics about haunted buildings in Hyakuninchō are hard to pin down online – most stuff is in Japanese. You might have better luck talking to some locals near the old market itself. Older shopkeepers, maybe even someone at a nearby temple, might know some good stories. Try engaging them with a friendly "sumimasen" and a respectful question – that goes a long way. Good luck with your spooky exploration! Hope you find something amazing.

That's great advice! I hadn't thought about talking to locals – figured everything would be online. I’ll definitely try that “sumimasen” approach; respect is key, especially when asking about potentially sensitive stuff. Fingers crossed I unearth some genuinely chilling tales. Thanks a bunch!
