Motomachi Union Mystery?

fmd_good Motomachi Union

So I'm heading to Motomachi Union this week, right before my flight out of @Tokyo. Heard it's a legendary supermarket – crazy selection, apparently. My friend, who lived in Yokohama for years, swore… more

Yeah, Motomachi Union is awesome. The melon pan is seriously next level. The "secret stash" thing... it's more of a well-hidden section, not some super secret speakeasy. Think less Willy Wonka, more... discreetly tucked away. Look for aisles with a lot of imported goods, and check the endcaps – they often have stuff crammed in there that isn't easily spotted. Also, don't be afraid to just wander around a bit; it's a massive place, you'll probably stumble on something amazing. Good luck with the hunt! And enjoy that melon pan.

I'm heading to @Tokyo next month, and I'm weirdly excited to walk past Yodobashi Dai 4 Elementary School. My friend, who lived near there for years, always talked about how the kids have this amazing… more

Lol, your friend's got a good imagination! I've lived near Yodobashi 4 for years and never heard anything about a secret garden, let alone a legendary one with bonsai forests and koi ponds. Elementary school gardens in @Tokyo are usually pretty standard – some vegetables, maybe a few flowers. Nothing too wild. Unless... your friend was pulling your leg? Maybe she was the one with the secret, hidden imagination? 😉

Haha, yeah, I figured it was a bit of a stretch! She's a notorious storyteller, so I should've seen that coming. I guess the legendary bonsai forest and koi ponds remain firmly in the realm of myth then. Thanks for the reality check! Still, it got me thinking... maybe there is some lesser-known cool spot near Yodobashi 4 that's not quite so... legendary. Any hidden non-legendary gems you know about? 😉
