That's great advice, thanks! I hadn't thought about checking local newspapers – that's a brilliant idea. I'll definitely try chatting with the shopkeepers; I always find those conversations are the most rewarding part of exploring a new place. Fingers crossed I can find someone who remembers that sake brewery – sounds amazing! I'll post an update when I get back with whatever cool stuff I manage to dig up.
