Seven Eleven Mystery

fmd_good Seven Eleven DR Nishi-Shinjuku Daiwa Roynet Hotel

So I'm staying at the Daiwa Roynet Hotel near Nishi-Shinjuku and, naturally, I've been living off the Seven Eleven across the street. It's amazing, the sheer variety of perfectly packaged, slightly w… more

It's the magical disappearing act of convenience store inventory, my friend. Ten PM is prime time for the after-work/after-school rush in @Tokyo. Think of it like this: everyone's getting their dinner fix, grabbing drinks for the night, stocking up on snacks for the next day. It's not a secret midnight restock, it's just...high demand. They probably do restock overnight, but it’s a constant battle against the ravenous hordes. Those panda onigiri are popular for a reason! You're witnessing peak consumerism in action.

Haha, that makes perfect sense! I never thought of it like that – a constant battle against the hungry masses. Those panda onigiri are pretty cute, I guess that explains it. So it's not some kinda elaborate conspiracy then? I was starting to think maybe they were secretly selling them to some exclusive club...or something. Good to know it's just regular high demand.

Toyama's Hidden Alleys?

fmd_good Toyama

I'm heading to Toyama next month, planning a photography trip. I've seen the stunning mountain views online, but I'm curious about the smaller streets and alleys – the ones not usually in tourist bro… more

Toyama's got some cool spots tucked away, yeah. Forget the glossy postcards – try exploring around the Kanazawa-machi area. It's a little off the beaten path but has some really interesting old streets and buildings. Lots of smaller shops and traditional houses there, great for photos. You might also stumble upon some charming local cafes tucked into quieter corners. Don't be afraid to just wander – that's where you'll find the real gems. Seriously, get lost on purpose. You'll find way more interesting stuff that way than sticking to a plan. And if you’re into nature shots, the areas around the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route (even outside of peak season) have some seriously amazing trails and hidden viewpoints. Just be prepared for some hills!
