Finding decent coffee in Shinjuku?

fmd_good Family Mart Takano Nishishinjuku

So, I'm in @Tokyo, right by the Family Mart Takano Nishishinjuku. It's... convenient, obviously. But their coffee? It's kinda weak. I've been trekking around Shinjuku all day, battling the crowds,… more

Dude, seriously? Family Mart coffee? That's a whole other level of suffering. You're in Shinjuku – coffee heaven is practically overflowing! Walk five minutes in any direction and you'll find something better. Check out the little cafes tucked away near Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden; they often have amazing brews and a less frantic vibe than the main streets. Or, if you're feeling fancy, head towards Omotesando – that area's crawling with stylish cafes with great coffee. You don't need to trek to some tiny station cafe; better options are closer than you think. Ditch the Family Mart, man. Your tastebuds will thank you.

Shinjuku Nightlife?

fmd_good Daily Yamazaki Shinjuku

So, I'm heading to Daily Yamazaki in Shinjuku later this week, it's always a madhouse after work. Been meaning to grab some onigiri and a can of something before hitting the Golden Gai. Anyone know… more

Yeah, Daily Yamazaki's a beast after hours. Good luck getting onigiri before the salarymen swarm in! As for that neon-green melon soda... Konbinis are a lottery. Some have the weirdest stuff, others are disappointingly normal. Your best bet is hitting a few different ones near Golden Gai. Don't expect to find it at every 7-Eleven or FamilyMart. Prepare for disappointment, but the hunt is half the fun! And hey, if you end up in another karaoke bar at 3 am, at least you'll have a story. Maybe try to avoid the Journey this time though... someone might call the police.
