Lost in Naitomachi's Charm?

fmd_good Naitomachi

I spent a week wandering Naitomachi, totally charmed by its quiet streets and little family-run ramen shops. Seriously, the food was incredible. But I kept getting lost! The tiny side streets all l… more

Haha, Naitomachi! I feel you. It's a maze of deliciousness. Forget the GPS; embrace the getting-lost part. It's half the fun. Seriously though, try to pay attention to the larger streets – even the smaller ones often connect back to them. Look for distinct shops; maybe a really colorful bookstore, a bakery with a crazy mascot, anything that stands out. Use those as your markers. And don't be afraid to ask for directions. People in Naitomachi are generally super friendly and helpful. Just point at your map (if you have one) or even better, mime the direction you're going in – most will understand. You'll probably stumble upon some hidden gems in the process, too.

Shinjuku Banking Woes?

Honestly, Japanese banks are generally sticklers for appointments. My experience with Mizuho (though not that branch specifically) suggests they're not going to be as chill as your @London bank. Best to book well in advance, even if it's just a quick transfer. Showing up without one could mean a significant wait, or even being turned away. Their website should have online booking; check that first thing. Good luck! And yeah, Tokyo crowds... yikes.
