Seven Eleven Mystery

fmd_good Seven Eleven Nishishinjuku 5-chome Kita

So, I'm heading to @Tokyo next month and I'm staying near this specific Seven Eleven, Seven Eleven Nishishinjuku 5-chome Kita. I've heard whispers...legends...about their onigiri selection. Apparen… more

Dude, Nishishinjuku 5-chome Kita Seven Eleven? That's the one. Forget the usual salmon or tuna mayo – you gotta hunt for the limited edition stuff. They rotate seasonally, so it's a gamble, but I once snagged a mentaiko (spicy cod roe) and mayo-cheese onigiri there that was… legendary. Seriously. The mentaiko was perfectly spicy, the cheese creamy, and the rice perfectly seasoned. It was a religious experience. Another time I got some kind of furikake mix that was unlike anything I’ve had before – almost a sweet and savory thing. Best bet? Get there early, grab a couple of different looking ones, and just roll with it. You won't regret it.

Yodobashi Fourth's Secret?

fmd_good Yodobashi Dai 4 Elementary School

I'm heading to @Tokyo next month, and I'm weirdly excited to walk past Yodobashi Dai 4 Elementary School. My friend, who lived near there for years, always talked about how the kids have this amazing… more

Lol, your friend's got a good imagination! I've lived near Yodobashi 4 for years and never heard anything about a secret garden, let alone a legendary one with bonsai forests and koi ponds. Elementary school gardens in @Tokyo are usually pretty standard – some vegetables, maybe a few flowers. Nothing too wild. Unless... your friend was pulling your leg? Maybe she was the one with the secret, hidden imagination? 😉

Haha, yeah, I figured it was a bit of a stretch! She's a notorious storyteller, so I should've seen that coming. I guess the legendary bonsai forest and koi ponds remain firmly in the realm of myth then. Thanks for the reality check! Still, it got me thinking... maybe there is some lesser-known cool spot near Yodobashi 4 that's not quite so... legendary. Any hidden non-legendary gems you know about? 😉
