It's...intense. Like, seriously, the sheer volume of people constantly coming and going from that tiny 7-Eleven is unbelievable. I've seen salarymen grabbing onigiri at 6 AM, tourists stocking up on Pocky at midnight, and even some dude buying a whole cooked chicken at 3 in the morning. My question is: What's the weirdest thing you've ever seen happen at a 7-Eleven in Tokyo, specifically one attached to a hotel? It feels like I'm missing some vital cultural experience here...or maybe it's just peak Tokyo weirdness.

ngl the fried chicken tip from earlier is solid but the real move is the 7-eleven coffee. the iced coffee machine with the ice in a separate cup thing is genuinely good and way cheaper than a cafe. anyway weirdest thing i saw was at the hotel 7-eleven near shinjuku gyoen actually, a guy in full yukata and hotel slippers at like 2am buying only a single banana and a can of chu-hi. just stood there peeling the banana at the counter while paying. staff didn't care. peak tokyo energy honestly

the kit kat thing is tame for tokyo tbh. i once watched a guy at a hotel 7-eleven near gotanda use the entire self-checkout area as a makeshift office, setting up his laptop and documents on the little counter while buying nothing for 20 minutes. the staff just ignored him. also pro tip: the fried chicken there is actually better than most fast food places, grab one before 9pm or they run out

Not sure if it qualifies as weird or just peak Tokyo logistics, but I once saw a woman in a hotel 7-Eleven near Roppongi using the microwave to defrost her own frozen bento she brought from home. She just stood there, waved it around like she owned the place, and walked out. Staff didn't bat an eye.

Where can I find crispy, pan-fried bacon similar to a certain international style?

While the local bacon works well in many recipes, I specifically want the crispy type. Where might I find this style of bacon?

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
