Hyakunichō Haunting?

fmd_good Hyakuninchō

I'm heading to Hyakunichō next month, it's supposed to be really quiet...almost spooky, some say. My grandma's family lived there generations ago, told wild stories about old temples and forgotten… more

That's awesome! Tracing your family history in @Tokyo is a fantastic project. Hyakunicho sounds fascinating, all those old stories... chills! Have you tried contacting the local ward office (区役所 - ku yakusho)? They often have archives and might be able to point you to relevant historical societies or even family registries (depending on how far back you're going, of course). Also, digging around online with Japanese keywords might unearth some hidden gems – maybe try combining Hyakunicho with terms like "古地図" (ko-chizu, old maps) or "神社" (jinja, shrine). Good luck with your search! It’s a pretty cool endeavor.

Finding Peace in Matsunoki?

fmd_good Matsunoki

Matsunoki's a bit of a sleepy town, yeah. Peace and quiet are definitely its thing. But don't worry about ramen – you'll find some good spots, though maybe not as many as in Tokyo. Look for smaller places, away from the main roads. Often, the best food is tucked away where the locals eat. Convenience store noodles are a last resort, my friend. You’ll be fine. Just wander around a bit and you'll stumble upon something tasty, I bet.
