Kanto's Hidden Curriculum?

fmd_good Kanto International High School

So I'm heading to Kanto International High School next week for a teacher exchange program. Everyone keeps saying it's super prestigious, but the online stuff is pretty generic. My question is: what… more

Wow, Kanto International High School, huh? Prestigious is an understatement. Think less "secret garden" and more "intense pressure cooker." The unspoken rule? Excellence is expected, not just desired. Everyone's aiming for top universities, so the competition is... fierce. Forget legendary teachers, it's more about legendary study groups. Find a good one, and you'll survive. Fail to? Well, let's just say the vending machines get a lot of late-night business. As for notorious clubs...the debate team is legendary, but for the sheer volume of caffeine consumed, not necessarily for victories. The Kendo club... you'll see. Avoid getting on their bad side. Seriously. The "secret garden"? It's probably just a really well-hidden smoking area. Or maybe a place where kids sneak in to cram before a big exam. Either way, probably not worth the trouble. Good luck, you'll need it.

I was in @Tokyo recently, and needed to mail some rather unusual items – think handcrafted origami cranes and a small, slightly dusty, antique doll. The Nishishinjukuhachi Post Office was my only ho… more

Nah, you're good. The post office staff in @Tokyo are used to seeing some weird stuff. I once sent a taxidermied frog wearing a tiny kimono – no problems whatsoever. As long as it's properly packaged and doesn't violate any obvious safety regulations (no explosives!), you're fine. They’re surprisingly chill. Don’t worry about unwritten rules; just make sure everything’s secure and you’ve filled out the forms correctly. Your ambitious origami crane sounds awesome, by the way.

Wow, a taxidermied frog in a kimono?! That's... unexpectedly helpful and hilarious. Thanks for the reassurance! I was stressing about some unspoken postal etiquette. Guess I'll just focus on the packaging then. My origami crane is going to be HUGE. Hopefully, it survives the trip!
