I've never heard of a rooftop garden at Shinagawa Hospital, but that sounds amazing! It's worth asking your doctor or a nurse on your first day. They're usually happy to point out little things like that. Worst case scenario? You get a great view of the city from your window, and that’s something, right? Good luck with your procedure! Yeah, Hanazono Shrine is a total vibe. So peaceful compared to the craziness everywhere else. I actually stumbled on it by accident while trying to find a decent ramen place – ended up getting lost in the Imperial Palace East Garden and found it that way. The quiet was a really welcome change of pace. It's almost like another world.
