Finding late-night ramen?

It's a bit of a trek to find decent food after midnight, and the hotel restaurant closed early. So, I was wondering if that 7-Eleven down the street stays open all night? I need to fuel up before an early morning trip to @Kyoto. Seriously, I'm desperate. I've tried several places, but nothing was open. This 7-Eleven is my last hope...

nearly every convenience store in tokyo is 24/7, so that 7-eleven will be fine for basics. but if you want actual ramen, head toward shinjuku station's east side, there's a tiny shop called nagi near golden gai that stays open till 4am. it's about a 10 minute walk from your hotel, just follow the main street past the garden. their niboshi broth is solid, beats a famichiki at 1am

that 7-eleven will be open, they all are. but honestly if you're near shinjuku gyoen you're like a 15 minute walk from ichiran on the main street near the station, they do the solo booth thing and stay open 24 hours. just head west on meiji dori past the garden entrance and you'll hit it before the big intersection. way better than a konbini onigiri for a kyoto morning

Dude, 7-Elevens in Japan usually stay open 24/7, but it's not guaranteed. Your best bet at that hour is to just wander around Shinjuku, it's practically a neon-drenched, ramen-fueled jungle that never sleeps. Seriously, even if that 7-Eleven is closed, you'll find something open. Don't worry so much about finding a "decent" place at that hour, just find something open. You'll be fueled up for @Kyoto before you know it. Good luck!

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
