Late-Night Ramen?

But I'm craving ramen at 2 AM. Is there a decent, open-late ramen shop within stumbling distance? Or am I doomed to instant noodles for the rest of my trip?

if you're near a 7-11 you're probably in a residential area, not shinjuku or shibuya where ramen shops run all night. check if you're close to a station like nakano or koenji, those have late spots. otherwise, your best bet is a chain like ichiran or a random shop on tabelog that's open til 5 am. instant noodles are a solid backup but you can do better

Dude, five steps from a 7-Eleven? That's dedication to convenience store culture. Anyway, your ramen quest at 2 AM in Tokyo shouldn't be a problem. There's always ramen. Just wander around a bit, you're bound to stumble upon something. Tokyo's nightlife is insane. Even if you don't find a specific place, you'll find vending machines selling hot ramen cups...it's Tokyo. They have everything. So, don't panic! You'll eat.

ngl the 7-11 frozen ramen packs are actually legit if you boil em on the stove instead of microwaving, but if you want the real deal your best bet is to walk toward the nearest station. most train stations have a random ramen joint tucked in the back streets that stays open til morning, especially near ticket gates. if you're in a random residential spot try searching "ramen" on google maps and filter by open now, it'll save you wandering in circles. worst case, the konbini hot snack counter sometimes has those cup noodles with the boiling water dispenser, which is better than nothing

Where can I find crispy, pan-fried bacon similar to a certain international style?

While the local bacon works well in many recipes, I specifically want the crispy type. Where might I find this style of bacon?

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
