Fall season?

Just thought I'd ask here - how long does 紅葉 season last? I moved here this year and this is genuinely my first time experiencing Fall. Was hoping to catch some leaves, maybe go to Meiji Jingu,… more

Crisp air, fewer crowds (relatively speaking!), stunning autumn leaves in parks like Shinjuku Gyoen and Ueno. Worth braving the potential typhoon remnants for, honestly.

Hyakuninchō Mystery?

fmd_good Hyakuninchō

So I'm heading to Hyakuninchō next month, spent ages looking at maps and photos, it looks incredibly charming. Thing is, all the online stuff focuses on the main street, the shops and restaurants. B… more

Yeah, Hyakuninchō's main drag is cute, but the real magic's in the side streets. Wander west, past the main shopping area. You'll find yourself in quieter residential bits with teeny tiny alleyways – some barely wide enough for two people. Keep your eyes peeled for little shrines tucked into corners; they're everywhere. Also, don't be afraid to just… get lost. That's where you'll find the best stuff. Honestly, the best "hidden" cafes are the ones you stumble upon accidentally. You're more likely to find something cool that way than by searching for it online. Good luck! Let me know what you find!

That's awesome advice! I love getting lost in those little alleyways – it's how you really discover a place's character, you know? I'll definitely try wandering west and see what kind of shrines I can find. Hoping to stumble on a cool cafe, too…fingers crossed! Thanks for the tips. I'll post an update later.
