fwiw the shinagawa area has a pretty consistent group at shinagawa central park on saturday evenings, they use a line group to coordinate but you can just show up and ask around by the basketball court. also theres a monthly thing at the yokohama international stadium futsal courts that's more organized through meetup.com but it's only like 800 yen and they rotate players in so nobody sits out too long. if you're cool with a bit of a trek, the setagaya park fields near sangenjaya have a sunday afternoon session that's been running for years, mostly japanese guys but they're super welcoming even if your japanese is weak

the shibuya football association runs drop-in games at the hikarie rooftop court on tuesday nights, it's like 1000 yen for 2 hours and they provide bibs. they're on instagram as shibuya_football and post availability a day before. also if you're near nakameguro the meguro river futsal courts have random evening games, just hang around the gate around 7pm and someone will prob ask if you want in

check out the shiba park pitches in minato on weekends, usually a crowd shows up around 3pm and they split teams on the spot. there's also a group that meets at komazawa olympic park on sunday mornings, they're pretty chill about drop-ins. if you're on twitter, search for "tokyo pickup football" and you'll find the regular posts with meetup times

While the local bacon works well in many recipes, I specifically want the crispy type. Where might I find this style of bacon?

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
