fwiw, the tokyo english life center has volunteer orientation days where you can sign up for stuff like teaching english at community centers or helping with cultural exchange events. it's not as hands on as cleanup stuff but they usually have a social hour after with snacks and it's a good way to meet people who know about other pop up events. their office is near yotsuya station, like 10 mins on the jr from shibuya

also check out the tokyo vegan community on facebook, they do beach cleanups at odaiba sometimes and then everyone goes to a vegan restaurant after. it's more of a hangout with a purpose vibe, the last one i saw was on a saturday morning and they had free kombucha

if you're into animals, tokyo cat guardian does volunteer days where you just hang out with cats and help clean their shelter space. it's in nakano so a quick hop on the chuo line from shibuya. they usually ask for a small donation for supplies but it's pretty loose and the cats are friendly

another one is the green bird project, they do street cleanups but with a social twist, like grabbing drinks after. they meet at different spots but i've seen one near yoyogi park before which is right next to you. just bring gloves and they'll provide bags and grabbers

honestly, check out Second Harvest Japan's food sorting events. they're pretty chill, you just sort donations with other volunteers and chat. they do shifts in a few spots around the city, not always shibuya but sometimes near shinjuku which is close enough. also, tokyo river cleanup has a fun vibe, they usually meet near a station and hand out gloves and bags. the one by omotesando is easy to get to from you

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
