Any place selling Yaki Imo around Shibuya?

if you're around shibuya in the morning, there's a little stand outside the tokyu department store on the dogenzaka side that does fresh yaki imo from like 9am. they use satsumaimo from chiba and the skin gets all caramelized, really good with a bit of salt

for a cafe, i'd skip the tourist spots and head to "cafe de l'ambre" near harajuku station, it's a tiny hole in the wall that's been running since the 50s and they only do coffee no food but the owner roasts his own beans and it's probably the best pour-over in the area. also if you're into ramen, the tsukemen at "fuunji" near shinsen station is way better than the shibuya tourist traps and only like 1200 yen

theres a guy who sets up a cart near the shibuya mark city entrance around 5pm, he does two types of yaki imo - the regular satsumaimo and a special beniharuka variety thats way sweeter. i usually grab one and walk over to the shinjuku gyoen for a quiet moment, its only 200 yen to get in

for a cafe, try "wired cafe" on the seventh floor of the shibuya hikarie building, the view over the crossing is nice and they do a decent hojicha latte. if youre feeling adventurous, theres a tiny omurice spot called "you" in the backstreets near that big tsutaya, they only do two dishes and the omelet rice with demi-glace is like 1100 yen and worth the wait

The yaki imo truck is definitely the classic choice, but if you want a sit-down version, there's a place called "Yaki Imo no Mise" tucked into the backstreets of Shibuya near the NHK Broadcasting Center. It's a tiny shop with a few seats, and they do a baked sweet potato with a side of matcha salt for dipping, which gives it a nice savory twist.

For something different in the area, check out "Mame" on the second floor of a building near Shibuya Stream. It's a small bakery and cafe that does a really good mont blanc pastry and pour-over coffee, plus the window seats give you a view of the train tracks.

Where can I find crispy, pan-fried bacon similar to a certain international style?

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
