Are there any English speaking laser skincare clinics/ dermatologist that you'd recommend?

also pls feel free to share your experience as well! I've also had a friend tell me she went to one where you could pay extra to have an english translator also pls feel free to share your experience as well! honestly i'd skip the whole translator thing, it's a waste of money. most clinics in minato-ku have at least one english speaking staff member on rotation. i go to lumina clinic in azabu-juban, the receptionist there is fully bilingual and the doctor studied in australia. it's a smaller place than tokyo skin clinic but the atmosphere is way more relaxed, they don't try to upsell you on products every visit. a session for fraxel on my cheeks was like 15,000 yen which felt fair. just make sure to book online and mention you need english, they'll put you with the right person

I've been going to Shonan Towa Clinic in Omotesando for a few years now and they have English speaking staff if you request them when booking. The doctor there trained in the US so he gets the whole "I want to be careful but effective" mindset. A full face laser session runs about 12,000 yen and they have packages that bring it down to around 8,000 per session. The front desk speaks decent English too which helps when you're trying to figure out payment or scheduling.

tokyo skin clinic in hiroo is probably your best bet, they have english speaking staff and the doctors are legit trained overseas. i went there for laser hair removal and it was fine, they explain everything in english beforehand. the translator option is real but honestly if you go there you won't need it, just costs extra for no reason. dr. nomura at ginza taiyo clinic also speaks english but she's more for medical dermatology than cosmetic stuff. prices at tokyo skin clinic are around 10,000 yen per session for face which is average

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
