Hi

I am looking for a sento or public bath which has cold bath around these areas? I am looking to rent an apartment and would be nice to be close to a place with these ammenities (hot and cold pool).

Some of public baths that have cold bath don't even mention it on their gmaps location so it probably has to be first hand knowledge if some of you are enjoying hot/cold treatments.

I would appreciate any info.

Have a great day.

fwiw a lot of the newer super sento in that area have cold baths too but they're def not cheap. in shimbashi, check out ofuro no ousho near the station, they've got a cold bath that's like 15c and it hits hard after the sauna. for roppongi, the roppongi grand sauna isn't a sento but they have a cold plunge and it's open late. nihombashi is a dead zone for cold baths honestly, most places are just hot tubs and a tiny lukewarm pool. daimoku sento in shimbashi is a solid bet for the classic experience, 480 yen last time i went and the cold bath is legit.

theres a spot in daimon called tsukiji sento that barely shows up online but it's been there forever. they have a proper cold bath around 16-17c, not just a tap of cold water. it's about a 7 min walk from daimon station, 490 yen entry. for roppongi, oedo onsen monogatari in the direction of tokyo tower has a cold bath in their outdoor area but it's more of a tourist spot so expect crowds. nihombashi is honestly rough, i'd give up on that one and just go to daimoku sento in shimbashi instead, it's a 15 min walk from nihombashi station anyway

honestly cold baths are way more common in sento than gmaps lets on. in shimbashi, try daimoku sento near the shinbashi enbujo theater, they've got a proper cold pool around 18c. for roppongi, yuen roppongi is a bit pricier but has a great rotation with a cold bath that actually feels cold, not just lukewarm. nihombashi is tougher, most of the old sento there closed, but miyako on the yaesu side has a small cold plunge tucked in the corner. expect to pay around 500-600 yen for entry, bring your own towel

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
