Naitomachi's nightlife isn't exactly advertised, you're right. It's more of a "know someone who knows someone" kind of scene. Forget the usual online searches; those are useless. Honestly, your best bet is to wander around after sunset – Shinjuku's not far, and the spillover from there can be fun. Look for smaller, unassuming alleyways. Often, the best places are tucked away, with little to no signage. Don't be afraid to just walk into a place that looks busy with locals; it’s usually a good indicator. You'll probably stumble across some great little spots that way. The vibe is different than the more touristy areas; quieter, more intimate. Prepare to get a little lost, and embrace the unexpected.
