Shinjuku PA system saying a warning message, what do they mean?

I can't exactly name the place but he told me it's where the Yakuza games take place. At a traffic light there was a PA system speaking a warning message in English warning people to "not follow them", "not accept anything of them" and "not take their advice" and "you will be ripped off(?)" if I recall the message correctly. but we couldn't hear whom they were referring to and it remains an unsolved mystery. Given I wanna visit Japan someday I'd like to know what the full warning message is (googling got me nowhere) or at least what people are being referred to.

the message is about the "touts" - guys who hang around kabukicho trying to lure tourists into bars or clubs. they'll promise cheap drinks or cute girls but then hit you with a huge bill at the end, sometimes threatening violence if you don't pay. the PA system was set up after enough foreign tourists got scammed that the police had to step in

the full warning says something like "do not follow them, do not accept anything from them, do not take their advice. you will be charged excessive fees and scammed." it plays in english and japanese at the main crossing near the don quijote store

your friend was prob near the ichiban-gai street or the big pachinko place. the touts are easy to ignore once you know what they are, just keep walking and don't make eye contact

yeah that's exactly the kabukicho area you're talking about, the red light district part of shinjuku. the PA system warning is about the touts, they're the guys standing around trying to pull you into host clubs or those sketchy "membership bars" that'll hit you with a 50,000 yen bill for a beer

the full message is something like "do not follow them, do not accept anything from them, do not take their advice, you will be scammed and charged excessive fees" - it plays in english and japanese at certain intersections. the city actually installed those after a bunch of tourist complaints about getting ripped off

honestly the touts are easy to spot, they're usually young guys in flashy clothes hanging around the main streets near the pachinko parlors. just ignore them and keep walking, they'll give up after a few seconds

probably those touts trying to get people into host clubs or shady bars in kabukicho, theyre super aggressive and a known scam there

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
