It was a lot more expensive than the original ticket price but I really love the band and wanted to go. I didn't know that it was illegal to re-sell tickets until today, when I read what was on the tickets (which I picked up from Family Mart after completing the transaction), and I saw "営利目的の転売禁止" (resale for commercial purposes prohibited) written on them, as well as the name of the person who sold them to me. When I looked it up, I saw a number of articles explaining the laws passed to prohibit resale, and how some people have even been sent to jail for that.

As far as I can tell, I don't think I'm going to be deported for buying re-sold tickets (lol). But am I screwed out the money + opportunity to go? I REALLY REALLY want to go to this concert, but am I going to be denied entry? I'm really upset that I might've screwed myself over.

honestly you're prob fine. the law is aimed at scalpers who do it as a business, not people buying one ticket to see a band they love. venues rarely check names against IDs unless it's a super strict show, and even then they usually just let you in if you have the physical ticket. worst case you might get a warning but I've never heard of someone being denied entry for this.

that said, if the name on the ticket doesn't match your ID and they do check, you could be out the money. but for a Family Mart pickup ticket at a normal venue in Shibuya or Shinjuku, they almost never bother. just go, act normal, and enjoy the show.

yeah you're probably fine honestly. the law targets people making a business out of scalping, not someone who just bought one ticket. ticket.co.jp is a huge platform and they've been operating for years, if they were gonna get shut down it would've happened already

i've been to dozens of shows here and i've never once had my ID checked against the name on the ticket. they literally just scan the barcode at the door and let you through. the name thing is more for the venue's records and to discourage scalpers, not to police the audience

the only time i've heard of anyone having issues is at really small live houses in Shimokitazawa or Koenji where the staff might recognize regulars. even then they usually just shrug and let you in if you have a physical ticket

go to the show, have fun, and don't stress about it. the band wants people who love their music there, not people who bought tickets at the right price

Where can I find crispy, pan-fried bacon similar to a certain international style?

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
