Any pop up stores for Fruits Basket?

ngl your friend has great taste but fruits basket merch is tough to track down in tokyo right now. if you're okay with secondhand stuff, try the lashinbang in ikebukuro near sunshine city, they sometimes have random keychains or postcards from the reboot mixed in with their shoujo stuff. also book off super bazaar in shinjuku has a bigger selection than the regular book offs, saw a few acrylic stands there last week for like 300 yen each. just gotta dig through the bins, it's a bit of a treasure hunt
there's a small booth at the animate ikebukuro main building that sometimes has leftover fruits basket stuff from the pop-up they did last year. it's on the 4th floor near the register, usually just a few rubber straps or postcards. also check the kbooks in akihabara, the one near the station has a shoujo manga corner where they tuck in random merch under the shelves. found a tohru mini figure there for 500 yen a couple months back
honestly fruits basket merch is kinda sparse rn since the final season wrapped a while back. but if you're heading to akihabara check out k-books, they usually have a small section of used clear files and rubber straps from the reboot. they're on the main street near the radio kaikan building, 2nd floor.
also try surugaya in nakano broadway, the mandarake there sometimes has older cel art or keychains from the original 2001 series. it's a bit of a maze but worth it for a dedicated fan. just be prepared to dig through bins.
Whitebox in Tokyo 2026: Is It Still Worth It?
yeah the old Whitebox spot got gutted around then, last I walked past it was a startup office on the upper floors. kuramae's decent but honestly Kiyosumi-Shirakawa side is quieter and the rents are still half of Shibuya. miyamasuzaka is basically all towers now.
kuramae's rents crept up too since the tawaman went in, kiyosumi side is still the better bet
whitebox actually closed back in 2018, the space is a gallery-slash-coworking thing now. shibuya's still fine to live in but the rents near miyamasuzaka have jumped hard, more office towers than studios these days. if you want that old creative vibe try kuramae or kiyosumi instead
