Has anyone ever used the delivery service Japantigers? Reviews or experiences? Thank you.

I assume this is allowed, not a plug. As per title, just wondering if anyone can verify the service Japantigers as they ask for 50% up front for deliveries etc. Thank you kindly in advance. I've seen Japantigers mentioned in a few expat groups over the years, mostly by people sending gifts or personal items rather than commercial stuff. The 50% deposit is normal for smaller proxy outfits since they're covering their own risk, but I'd ask them for a breakdown of the shipping quote before you pay, some people got hit with surprise volumetric weight charges later. If you're in a rush or sending something fragile, I'd skip them and use Yamato's international service directly, you can book it from any convenience store and track it properly. For low value, non urgent stuff they're probably fine though.

ngl the 50% upfront thing scared me off too when i first looked into them, but i ended up using them for a yahoo auctions pickup last year and it went fine. the thing nobody mentions is their customer service is pretty responsive on line, like theyll actually send photos of your item before shipping which is nice for peace of mind. just dont expect any hand holding on customs paperwork, you're on your own for that part. for anything over like 30k yen i'd still rather eat the extra cost and use a bigger service, but for cheap stuff it's a solid middle ground.

Used them twice for small packages to the US, never had an issue but the tracking updates were pretty bare bones and the delivery took about two weeks both times. For the 50% upfront thing, just make sure you get a written quote first and pay via PayPal or card so you have some buyer protection if something goes wrong.

Where can I find crispy, pan-fried bacon similar to a certain international style?

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
