Best Bars in Ginza for a Group of ~20?

honestly for 20 people in ginza your best bet is renting a private room at a karaoke place like karaoke kan or big echo. theyre not fancy but the ones near yurakucho station have good drink packages and nobody cares how loud you get. theres one on the 4th floor of the building right across from the shimbashi exit that fits 25 easy

if you want something classier without the tiny bar problem, check out the whiskey lounge at the palace hotel tokyo. its a short walk from ginza and their big tables can handle a group that size. get the highball tower for the table, its like 8000 yen and keeps everyone happy for a while

the ginza six rooftop bar is also worth a look. theyve got that outdoor space that can hold a crowd, and the view over the city at night is pretty unbeatable. just show up before 8pm on a weekday or youll be waiting forever

For 20 people in Ginza you're prob better off going to a bigger hotel bar or a members bar that lets you reserve. Ginza is mostly tiny standing bars and high-end places that seat like 6 people.

Try Bar High Five if you can get there early and split into smaller groups, but honestly for that size I'd book a space at The Gate Hotel's bar on the 14th floor. Good views, they do bottle service for groups, and it's not as stuffy as the old-school Ginza bars.

If you want something more local, head to the backstreets near Sukiyabashi Crossing, there's a few second-floor izakaya that'll fit 20 if you call ahead. They won't speak much English but the food and booze are half the price of the main drag places.

Try Bar Lupin if your group is okay with cramped vintage charm, they've hosted bigger parties before but you'd need to call and reserve the basement room.

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
