I was trying to find out more information and found a Youtube video someone posted from this year of the same exact spot. What is this place? Is it open to the public, like the batting centers? The rooftop location makes me think maybe it's exclusive and that's why I can't find any information about it.

oh i know exactly what you mean, i thought the same thing when i first saw it. that's just the shinjuku batting center rooftop but they do have a few golf nets squeezed in there. it's open to everyone, nothing exclusive about it, you just pay at the counter downstairs and they'll give you tokens for the machines. the golf nets are honestly pretty beat up and the mats are worn, feels more like an afterthought than a real range. if you want a proper driving range in shinjuku, take the short walk to mejiro driving range, it's indoors and actually has real turf mats with trackman simulators, runs about 1500 yen for 30 mins

yeah that's the batting center on the top of Shinjuku Batting Center, not a golf place. it's actually open to the public and pretty cheap, like 300-400 yen for 25 swings i think. the rooftop view is solid but the nets block most of it, honestly the best part is the retro vibe inside. it's not exclusive at all, just a normal batting cage with a few golf nets tucked in the corner

that's actually the shinjuku batting center, not a dedicated golf place. they have a couple golf nets on the rooftop section but it's mostly batting cages. it's open to anyone, no membership needed, just pay per session like 300-400 yen for 25 swings. the golf nets are kinda cramped though, more of a novelty than a serious practice spot. if you want actual driving range access, try the indoor ones in shibuya or akasaka, they're better for real practice

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
