Can I get offer by SILS, FLA and ICU?

Hi I'm currently a senior in Japanese high school (with Japanese nationality). I'm applying 2025 April entry for SILS sp1, FLA and ICU English admissions.

My current stats: ielts7, sat1230(R&W570 M660), gpa 4.4(out of 5)

Just be curious, do FLA and ICU accept super score on SAT? (In my case, I don't need to submit sat for Waseda)

P.s. I'm definitely updating my current stats so give me some advice~:)

Your GPA is solid for all three programs, but the SAT is where things get tricky. FLA and ICU do accept superscores officially, so if you can retake in December and push that reading section up, your 660 in math is actually fine for both.

For SILS SP1, since you don't need SAT as a Japanese national, your IELTS 7 and GPA should carry you if your essay and interview are strong. ICU's English track puts a lot of weight on the interview and written test day, so don't neglect practicing those even if you're focused on SAT prep. Waseda's campus in Shinjuku is more convenient than ICU's Mitaka location for part-time job hunting, but ICU's smaller class sizes are a real draw if you want close interaction with professors.

With your stats, SILS SP1 is probably your strongest shot since they don't require SAT for Japanese nationals. FLA and ICU both accept superscores officially, but your 1230 is quite low for either program. ICU's average is around 1350-1400 even for their English track, and FLA tends to be similar.

For April 2025 entry, you still have time to retake the SAT in December. Focus on boosting the reading and writing section since 570 is dragging you down. ICU also places more weight on your essay and interview than Waseda does.

Your GPA is solid, but the standardized test scores will make or break your chances at FLA and ICU. If you can get the SAT to at least 1350, you'd be in a much better position across the board.

Yeah FLA and ICU both take superscores, so that's good. But honestly a 1230 is going to be tough for either of them. If you can get that reading section up to 650+ you'd have a real chance.

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
