Have you tried any of their escape rooms? How were they? If you tried any horror ones, how scary were they?

imo the horror factor at 東京密室 is way overhyped by their own marketing. 巫女の呪い is more of a spooky-themed puzzle room than an actual horror experience, like the scariest part is a single moment where a prop moves unexpectedly but it's telegraphed by the music change. if you really wanna test your limits, their 呪いの神社 room at the Shinjuku location has way more atmosphere and actual creep factor with the shrine bells and shadows. just go with it, your friends will prob be more focused on the puzzles than on you being scared anyway

I haven't done 巫女の呪い specifically, but I've played their 廃病院 room and it was more atmospheric than jump-scare heavy. The horror rooms at 東京密室 tend to rely on tension and puzzles in dim lighting rather than actors popping out at you, which might be manageable even if you're not a horror fan. If you're the nervous type, you could ask the staff beforehand if there are any sudden loud noises or physical contact, they're usually pretty upfront about that stuff at reception in Akihabara.

I've done 監禁病棟 with a mixed group where half of us were easily scared. The scares are mostly psychological and puzzle-based, not the kind where something jumps at your face. The staff at their Akihabara location let us dim the lights a little less for the first 10 minutes until we got used to it, which helped a lot. If you're the only nervous one, your friends can take the lead on the darker sections while you focus on solving the puzzles that are lit up.

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
