I know that Bic Camera offers this product, but I thought that there might be smaller stores that offer a more competitive price. If you know of any stores that might interest me, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks for your help :)

honestly, skip the big stores and head to Don Quijote. their "duty free" pricing is usually already lower than what Bic or Yodobashi advertise, plus they have those random coupon apps that knock off another 5% on electronics. just make sure the box is sealed, sometimes they sell display units as new if you aren't paying attention.

also check out Sofmap in Ikebukuro, they're part of the same group as Bic but their used section sometimes has open-box Ultras for way less. the staff there are more chill about negotiating too, especially if you pay cash. just ask if they have any "slightly used" stock in the back.

Check Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara, they usually match Bic Camera's pricing and sometimes beat it with point card bonuses. The smaller electronics shops along the side streets near Radio Kaikan can have slightly lower prices, but you'll need to compare the tax-free price plus any credit card discounts. If you have a friend with a membership card for either big store, that's usually the better deal than hunting down a tiny shop that might not even stock the Ultra.

you might want to try the smaller yamada denki labi stores, the one near shinjuku station has a decent selection and their prices are often a few hundred yen less than bic or yodobashi if you're paying in cash. also a lot of tourists miss that bic camera and yodobashi both have online-only coupons you can show at the register, just search jp for their coupon pages before you go. if you're okay with refurbished, check kakaku.com first to find the cheapest listing and then see if a store like sofmap or janpara will price match it in person

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
