Long shot but anyone has any recommendation of a therapist that specializes in this?

She's seen 3 so far, first one was great but only had a few sessions until my wife got released from the hospital. Second one was just a bad experience and unhelpful all around, third was better but was not very experienced in that and would constantly discourage her. She's regressed a bit in the past few months and i would like for her to have a professional she can talk to. It's a long shot but if by any chance you happen to know of someone that's good, please let me know

honestly, TELL is a solid starting point but i know a few people who went through the Tokyo English Life Line (TELL) referral list and had better luck matching with someone specific. they let you filter by issue and language, plus the counselors they list have usually been vetted by someone who understands the local system

if she's japanese-speaking at all, there's a clinic in Yotsuya called Mejiro Mental Clinic that has a female therapist named Sato who specializes in trauma therapy. she's not cheap, around 10,000 yen a session, but she's known for being direct without being pushy. a colleague's wife saw her after a similar situation and said it was the first time she felt like she wasn't being handled with kid gloves

also, the Tokyo Stalking and Domestic Violence hotline might be worth calling even if the legal stuff isn't the focus. they sometimes have therapist recommendations that aren't listed publicly, especially for women who need someone trauma-informed

TELL Counseling in Hiroo has a few female therapists who deal with trauma, though I'd specifically ask about stalking experience when you call. They're near the National Azabu supermarket, about 8000 yen per session without insurance.

If she's open to online, Tokyo Mental Health has a woman named Yuki who worked with sexual assault survivors before moving to private practice. My friend saw her for about six months and said she was the first therapist who actually got it.

The Tokyo Rape Crisis Center's referral list is worth checking too. They vet the therapists they recommend and sometimes know who has openings without a three month wait.

yeah there's a therapist in gotanda i've heard good things about, her name's Yuriko at a small clinic called Sora Counseling. she does trauma work specifically with women who've been through stalking and assault, and apparently she's really careful about pacing. one of my wife's friends saw her after a similar situation and said the biggest difference was that Yuriko never pushed her to talk about stuff she wasn't ready for, which sounds like the opposite of that third therapist your wife dealt with. sessions are like 8000 yen and they're near the gotanda station west exit, maybe 10 min walk

another option if she's open to it is the online platform BetterHelp Japan, they let you switch therapists for free if it's not clicking. not ideal for everyone but it might take the pressure off having to go to an office when she's having a rough week. i know someone who cycled through three therapists on there before landing on one who specialized in trauma from sexual violence, and she said the ability to just message her therapist between sessions made a huge difference

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
