Electronics factory tours in Japan?

I like touring factories, any recommendations for some to check out in Japan? Especially interested in electronics as Japan is known for their electronics products. honestly if you're into electronics you gotta check out Sony's history museum in Shinagawa. it's not a working factory but they have all the old prototypes and production line stuff set up which is pretty cool. also Panasonic has a showroom in Tokyo called Panasonic Center where they demo their latest tech and sometimes have behind-the-scenes tours if you book ahead. fwiw the real factory action is out in the countryside tho like Toshiba's semiconductor plant in Oita but u need to arrange those way in advance through their corporate site

tbh the most underrated one is the canon gallery in shinjuku. not a factory per se but they have this insane display of how camera lenses get polished by hand, old school craftsmen stuff. also if you're willing to head south, the hitachi factory in omika does tours where u see the train control systems being built, its like stepping into a mini metropolis of wires. book a month ahead though, they fill up fast

if you can get out to yokohama, the nissan engine plant tour is worth a detour. it's more automotive than pure electronics but the robotics on the assembly line are wild to watch. also check if sharp's kameyama plant is doing tours again, they used to have a glass factory tour where u see the lcd panels being made. both are a bit of a trek but way more hands-on than the tokyo showrooms

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
