Yeah I've been to Tokyo derm a few times. Dr Noda is legit but the wait is real, I've sat there for like 2 hours past my appointment time just to get maybe 5 minutes with him. He's thorough in that short time though, really knows his stuff. If you just need a prescription refill or something routine, you can prob see one of the other docs and get out way faster. The clinic is in Ginza near the Sony building, easy to find.

Dr Noda is definitely worth seeing if you have something specific you need diagnosed, but you're right about the wait. I've been twice and the second time I brought a book and still ran out of things to read. If you want to maximize your time with him, prepare a list of questions beforehand and be direct, he responds well to that. The clinic itself takes reservations online through their website but they don't always update the wait times accurately, so showing up 15 minutes early and checking in at the reception desk gives you a better sense of the actual queue.

honestly if you're just going for something routine like a mole check or prescription, I'd skip the wait and see whoever's available. Dr Noda is great for complex stuff but the other docs are totally competent and you won't waste your afternoon. I went on a wednesday afternoon and they told me the wait for Dr Noda was 3+ hours so I saw Dr Kim instead, she was super nice and even did a quick full body skin check. The clinic takes credit cards but bring cash just in case, some of the smaller pharmacies nearby don't take card.

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
