Good place to buy a suit quickly?

Hey! I'm dumb and need a suit by next week Wednesday. Where would be a good place to go and buy one that doesn't break the bank either?

Cheers!

You're not dumb, this happens all the time. For speed and price, head to the Isetan Men's building in Shinjuku. They have a whole floor of off-the-rack suits from brands like Suit Company and Aoyama that'll run you around 30,000 to 50,000 yen. The staff there can do basic alterations in a day or two if you go in the morning, just tell them your deadline.

tbh for something quick and not too pricey, hit up Sakazen in Shinbashi. It's a massive discount store with suits from like 8,000 yen up, all off the rack. They do basic hemming while you wait if you need it, no appointment needed. Just check the sizing carefully since it's all self-service

if you're near ikebukuro, try the tobu department store men's floor. they've got a decent selection from japanese brands like the suit company and takashimaya, prices start around 25,000 yen. the staff are pretty good at quick alterations if you go during the week, just tell them you need it by wednesday. also check out the uniqlo in shinjuku for a blazer and pants combo if you're on a real budget, they do free hemming

Whitebox in Tokyo 2026: Is It Still Worth It?

I used to go there for exhibitions all the time but I heard it's changed, and I'm wondering if the neighborhood is still worth living in or if it's all just turned into offices now.

yeah the old Whitebox spot got gutted around then, last I walked past it was a startup office on the upper floors. kuramae's decent but honestly Kiyosumi-Shirakawa side is quieter and the rents are still half of Shibuya. miyamasuzaka is basically all towers now.

kuramae's rents crept up too since the tawaman went in, kiyosumi side is still the better bet

whitebox actually closed back in 2018, the space is a gallery-slash-coworking thing now. shibuya's still fine to live in but the rents near miyamasuzaka have jumped hard, more office towers than studios these days. if you want that old creative vibe try kuramae or kiyosumi instead
