Finding Panettone for Christmas?

I'm craving panettone and wondering where I can buy some.

Check high-end supermarkets in Osaka like the ones in upscale shopping areas like Shinsaibashi or Umeda. They're more likely to stock imported Italian goods for the Christmas season. Failing that, try specialty import food stores; those often cater to a more discerning clientele.

Finding a Jewelry Store in Osaka

I visited Osaka in October and fell in love with some customizable rings and earrings at a shop I can't remember the name of. The rings were V-shaped with a small dangle, and the earrings were simple,… more

That's a tough one! Osaka is HUGE. Trying to track down a specific jewelry store based only on a description of the jewelry is like finding a needle in a haystack of sparkling things. Do you remember anything else about the area? Anything at all – nearby landmarks, the general style of the shop (modern, traditional, etc.), even the approximate neighborhood (Shinsaibashi, Namba, Umeda…)? Even a vague memory could help narrow down the search.

Finding a unique photo album

I'm looking for a store with a good selection of large, colorful photo albums. Any suggestions?

Check out the Loft stores in Osaka. They often have a surprisingly good selection of stationery and quirky gift items, including photo albums. You might find something unusual there. Otherwise, larger department stores like Daimaru or Hankyu might have a dedicated stationery floor worth browsing.

Finding a reliable computer repair shop in Osaka, Kobe, or Kyoto

My motherboard's BIOS is partially fried (only one of two chips replaced, limited functionality)

Finding someone who can handle a partially fried BIOS is tricky. You might have better luck searching for a repair shop specializing in servers or industrial PCs in Osaka, Kobe, or Kyoto. Those guys often deal with more complex motherboard issues than your average consumer repair shop. Look for places advertising "motherboard-level repair" or something similar in their online listings. Good luck!

Sunrise Hike near Namba

Seeking a short, accessible hike (under an hour) near Namba with public transport access, open 24/7, for sunrise viewing. Many options online are too long or don't open early enough.

Finding a truly short hike near Namba for sunrise is tough. Most trails suitable for a quick trip are further out. You're probably better off finding a high viewpoint in the city itself – maybe a rooftop bar or a park with an elevated area offering a good eastern view. Check out some of the higher floors of buildings in the Namba area; a panoramic sunrise might be easier to achieve than a hike at that hour.

Selling Used Camera Gear in Osaka

I have a Sony a7 IV, three G Master lenses, a drone, and gimbal I rarely use. They're worth around $10,000 new, and I'm hoping to get $4,000-$5,000 selling them in Osaka. Where's the best place to ge… more

For that kind of high-value gear, I'd avoid general secondhand shops. Your best bet in Osaka is probably a reputable camera store specializing in used equipment, or possibly listing them on a Japanese online marketplace like Mercari or Yahoo! Auctions (if you're comfortable navigating Japanese sites – there are translation tools!). You'll likely get a better price than through a pawn shop or general consignment. Be prepared to haggle a bit, though. Good luck!

Looking for gyms near Namba Station.

As the title says, looking for gyms close to Namba station. Ideally a place that’s not too crowded, open 24 hours and with decent enough equipment. It would be a big plus if the people attending the p… more

Finding a less crowded 24-hour gym in Namba with decent equipment and a welcoming atmosphere can be tricky. While Anytime Fitness might not be ideal based on your experience, have you looked into smaller, independent gyms in the area? They sometimes offer a less corporate feel and might be less packed. Searching Google Maps for "フィットネスジム 難波" (fitness gym Namba) and filtering by reviews might unearth some hidden gems. Also, check if any gyms list their payment options on their websites – sometimes that information isn't readily available on Google reviews. Good luck with your search!

Where can I find non-alcoholic draft beer in Osaka?

Hoping to get some tips for bars around town that have non-alcoholic beers on tap?

Finding non-alcoholic draft beer in Osaka might be a bit of a hunt, but not impossible. Check out some of the craft beer bars – they're often more experimental and might carry something interesting. Also, larger pubs in the entertainment districts (like Namba or Umeda) sometimes have a wider selection of drinks, including non-alcoholic options. You could try looking at online menus before heading out – many places post their menus with photos online these days. Good luck with your search!

I need to know this street artist's name.

Apologize in advance if this isn't the sub to post this question. Was stuck between this sub and the osakatravel one. My fiance and I visited Osaka Umeda on Dec 5 around 6-7PM in the evening and w… more

That's a fantastic story! Finding a talented street musician like that is a real treat. Unfortunately, without knowing the specific location within Umeda where you saw her (even a general area like near a particular station or landmark would help) it’s going to be tough to identify her. The video might help others if you can share a wider shot showing more of the surroundings.

A bar that shows sports.

Hey, does anyone know where I can watch the usyk vs fury fight tomorrow. I think the main card starts around 4-5pm. Would love to find a little sports bar or something to watch it.

Check out the bars around Namba – lots of places there with big screens and a good atmosphere. You might have better luck finding somewhere showing it if you head a little away from the main tourist areas, though.
