I'm looking for recommendations on where to purchase good quality vinyl records at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, I won't be able to visit any Sunday markets during my stay. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

check out radiation records on via ostiense, maybe 10 min walk from piramide metro. small shop but the used bins are well organized & prices are honest, usually 8 to 20 euro, lots of italian prog and library stuff if thats ur thing. also try the tiny place inside mercato centrale at termini, stall on the lower level, mostly reissues but ive found some bargains there. bring cash for both, card is hit or miss

Near Trevi youve got Discoteca Laziale on via Giolitti, maybe 15 min walk past Termini. Decent used section upstairs, jazz and Italian pressings especially. Not the cheapest in town but fair, think 10 to 25 euro for most LPs.

If you want cheaper head to Mercatino di via Sannio, its open weekdays too not just Sunday. Mostly clothes but a few stalls have crates. Cash only and prices are negotiable if u buy a stack.

tbh just hit the thrift spots around pigneto, like the ones on via del pigneto, some random crates there dirt cheap. quality is hit or miss tho

I have a layover in Riga before continuing my journey, and I'm wondering if it would be financially beneficial to purchase my tobacco there. Can anyone provide details on the prices?

tbh duty free at Riga is only worth it if you're buying cartons, single packs at the airport arent that much cheaper than teh tabaccai in Rome. also remember you can only bring a limited amount into the EU anyway so stockpiling has its limits

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Chesterfield Blue usually runs around 5.50 to 6 euros a pack in Rome these days, though tabaccai prices are fixed by the state so it won't vary much shop to shop. Riga is generally cheaper for cigarettes but your layover time matters, if it's tight you might not have time to clear security and find a shop.

LM Blue in Rome is roughly the same ballpark, around 5.50 to 6 euros. One thing to keep in mind at Riga airport, the duty free selection isn't always great for specific brands like these, so if you're set on LM or Chesterfield you might strike out. I'd check what the actual duty free has before counting on it.
