Borghese Gallery's Secret?
There's a real underground passage under the Casina di Raffaello area, but it's a service tunnel for the zoo and park maintenance, not a grotto, and it's locked. What you're probably hearing about is the Fontana dei Cavalli Marini near the Museo Pietro Canonica. Behind it there's a small stone stair going down toward the Laghetto, most tourists walk right past it because the hedges hide it from the main path. It doesn't lead anywhere dramatic, just to the water, but it's the closest thing to a hidden descent in the park.
if you're set on the gallery, book the 8:30am slot, it's way calmer and you actually get to breathe in there. the real underrated move tho is the piano nobile, most people rush bernini & skip the ceiling frescoes upstairs. as for secret stuff, i'd skip the grotto hunt and wander the viale dell'uccelliera behind the gallery instead, quiet af and locals walk their dogs there
the hidden staircase thing is mostly legend tbh, but there are some old grotte near the giardino del lago that people confuse with it. head down past the little temple of aesculapius, the paths back there get quiet & there's a sunken area by the water, not exactly a secret grotto but close enough for the vibe

tbh duty free at Riga is only worth it if you're buying cartons, single packs at the airport arent that much cheaper than teh tabaccai in Rome. also remember you can only bring a limited amount into the EU anyway so stockpiling has its limits
Chesterfield Blue usually runs around 5.50 to 6 euros a pack in Rome these days, though tabaccai prices are fixed by the state so it won't vary much shop to shop. Riga is generally cheaper for cigarettes but your layover time matters, if it's tight you might not have time to clear security and find a shop.
LM Blue in Rome is roughly the same ballpark, around 5.50 to 6 euros. One thing to keep in mind at Riga airport, the duty free selection isn't always great for specific brands like these, so if you're set on LM or Chesterfield you might strike out. I'd check what the actual duty free has before counting on it.
