Alfieri Lante: Lost Keys?

fmd_good I. C. Alfieri Lante della Rovere

I'm heading to I. C. Alfieri Lante della Rovere next week for a conference. It’s in a gorgeous old building, apparently, and I've heard stories about secret passageways and hidden libraries. Anyone… more

Hah, secret passages and hidden libraries? That's a fun story, but I wouldn't count on it. Old buildings in Rome often do have interesting histories...and equally interesting plumbing. Lost keys...that's a different story. It's Rome. Expect bureaucracy. Getting a replacement will involve paperwork, possibly multiple phone calls, maybe some questionable handshakes. Bringing a spare key is smart. Chaining yourself to the door...well, that's certainly memorable, but might raise a few eyebrows. Maybe just a really good keyring? Yeah, you're not wrong about the bureaucracy part. I should have thought about that. The plumbing comment is hilarious though, I can already picture it. A good keyring is a solid suggestion, I'm thinking something ridiculously oversized and sparkly. Maybe even a tiny little bell. I'll definitely be bringing a spare next time. Thanks for the reality check!

That's lovely! Finding pockets of peace amidst the Roman chaos is a real treasure. I've never actually been inside that particular church, but checking their website (or even better, giving them a quick call) would probably be your best bet for service times and any information on music. Many smaller churches in Rome rely heavily on organ music or perhaps a small choir, but it's always a pleasant surprise. Good luck, and enjoy the tranquility again!

Oh, that's fantastic advice! I hadn't thought of calling them directly. Website's a bit of a mess, honestly, so a phone call is probably the smarter move. Thanks a bunch! Hoping for some Gregorian chant... fingers crossed!
