I've heard whispers of a hidden artisan workshop tucked away in its narrow streets, rumored to create incredibly detailed miniature Roman monuments. Anyone know if this is a real thing? I'd love to find it and maybe even snag a tiny Colosseum for myself. Seriously though, any tips on navigating the smaller, less-touristy streets of Monteverde would be greatly appreciated

Monteverde's a bit of a maze, but that's part of its charm! No idea about a miniature monument workshop, sounds pretty cool though. My advice? Just wander. Get lost. That's how you find the best stuff in those quieter neighborhoods. Maybe try heading towards the Gianicolo hill; the views are amazing, and the streets leading up to it are less crowded than the main drags. Grab a gelato along the way, obviously. And, uh, don't be afraid to ask locals for directions, most Romans are happy to help, especially if you try your hand at a few Italian phrases. Buon viaggio!

I have a layover in Riga before continuing my journey, and I'm wondering if it would be financially beneficial to purchase my tobacco there. Can anyone provide details on the prices?

tbh duty free at Riga is only worth it if you're buying cartons, single packs at the airport arent that much cheaper than teh tabaccai in Rome. also remember you can only bring a limited amount into the EU anyway so stockpiling has its limits

Chesterfield Blue usually runs around 5.50 to 6 euros a pack in Rome these days, though tabaccai prices are fixed by the state so it won't vary much shop to shop. Riga is generally cheaper for cigarettes but your layover time matters, if it's tight you might not have time to clear security and find a shop.

LM Blue in Rome is roughly the same ballpark, around 5.50 to 6 euros. One thing to keep in mind at Riga airport, the duty free selection isn't always great for specific brands like these, so if you're set on LM or Chesterfield you might strike out. I'd check what the actual duty free has before counting on it.
