Wow, that's a really interesting way to put it. "A weight"... yeah, I think I get that. It wasn't just quiet for me, either. It felt...intense. Like the energy of thousands of years just hanging in the air. I hadn't thought about the weather playing a part, but you're probably right. I went on a scorching hot day, which might have amplified the feeling of oppression. I'd love to go back on a different day, maybe a cooler, overcast one, and see if the atmosphere changes.
